Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 24, 2026

Who we are

JoeHandlesIt LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website joehandlesit.com and provides website design, hosting, and management services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website or services.

Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Contact form submissions: When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and message.
  • AI assistant conversations: When you interact with the AI assistant on our website or on a website we host for a client, the content of those conversations is collected and may be shared with the website owner so they can follow up with you.
  • Website analytics: We collect anonymous usage data such as pages visited, time on site, and general geographic location. This data does not personally identify you.
  • Client-provided information: If you are a client, we collect business information you provide to build and maintain your website. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card numbers or payment card details.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide our services
  • To build, host, and maintain websites for our clients
  • To enable our clients to follow up on leads and conversations from their websites
  • To improve our website and services through anonymous analytics
  • To manage client accounts (payment processing is handled by Stripe)
  • To send service-related communications (not marketing)

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With our clients: If you submit a contact form or interact with the AI assistant on a client’s website, that information is shared with the client so they can respond to you.
  • Service providers: We use third-party services for hosting, AI functionality, and payment processing (Stripe). These providers only have access to the information necessary to perform their services. Website analytics are collected using self-hosted, open-source software on our own infrastructure and are not shared with any third party. Your payment information is collected and stored by Stripe, not by us — see Stripe’s Privacy Policy for details.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses minimal cookies necessary for site functionality. Our analytics collect anonymous usage data without using tracking cookies or personally identifying visitors.

Data retention

We retain contact form submissions and conversation data for as long as needed to provide our services. Client data is retained for the duration of the service relationship and a reasonable period afterward. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us.

Under the Illinois Consumer Privacy Act and applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you
  • Request access to your personal information in a portable format
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

In the event of a data breach involving your personal information, we will notify affected individuals in accordance with the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS 530), which requires notification in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay.

Children’s privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
